Hearing aids are divided into 2 major categories: Behind The Ear (BTE) and In The Ear (ITE).
Below are their subcategories.
BEHIND THE EAR
BEHIND THE EAR
BEHIND THE EAR - BTE
Hooks over the top of the ear and rests behind the ear. A transparent tube connects the hearing aid to a custom earpiece called an ear mold that fits in the ear canal.
Ideal for people of all ages and those with almost any type of hearing loss.
- The newer mini designs are streamlined and barely visible
- Capable for more amplification
- Extremely long life Battery

ΒΤΕ OPEN FIT- ΟF
Instead of a classic tube with ear mold have a thin transparent tube with silicon dome in order to keep the ear canal very open for better ventilation. Allows low frequency sounds to enter the ear canal naturally and amplify high frequency sounds.
Ideal for people with mild to moderate high frequency hearing loss.
- Less visible
- Get the feeling of natural sound
- The ventilation of the ear canal gives more comfort
Receiver In The Ear/Canal - RIE/RITE/RIC
Παρόμοια με τα BTE OF. Similar to the BTE OF. A thin tube is replaced by a thin wire that ends to a receiver placed in the ear. The receiver may be covered by a dome or ear mold – shell especially manufactured and fitted in the ear.
Ideal for people with mild to profound hearing loss.
- Lightweight and invisible
- High quality sound
- The smallest solution for profound hearing loss

In The Ear - ITE
IN THE EAR
In The Ear - ITE
A custom earpiece called shell fits in the ear.
Ideal for people with mild to severe hearing loss.
- Better solution for people using eyeglasses
- Manual volume control (optional)
- Use a large battery for longer battery life time
COMPLETELY IN THE CANAL – CIC
Are molded to fit inside the ear canal.
Ideal for people with mild to moderate hearing loss.
- Small and invisible
- Better response in wind noise environments
- Allows the sound to maintain its physical path until the ear canal

INVISIBLE IN THE CANAL – IIC
Ideal for people with mild to moderate hearing loss.
- Very small and completely invisible
- Have better response in noise environments
- Maximum flexibility for exercise (sports)
